motivating the Monday

This Monday morning brought some pretty sour attitudes from a fun, yet exhausting weekend and late nights to boot! We had a therapy at our house at 7:45 and one who slept late and one who needed to be out the door for work, all hitting around the same time. Other people showed up at the house and well, things were hectic and it was not my ideal way of greeting children and preparing them for the day! I also planned on us getting out early to the grocery store, but when 11:30 hit and we still hadn't made it, I piled everyone in and headed to Chick-Fil-A. And it's only Monday. I thought the boys surely can't make it pleasantly through the grocery store without fueling their tanks, but I was met with whines of having to leave the playground and without ice cream. And THEN, there was the grocery store with all 4 boys. Hello summer! Wasn't it just last week that I was singing June's praises? Ahhh yes, but then there was our sermon at church last night. We listened to an encouraging message on Psalm 37. And after feeling a little child-frazzled this morning, I am reminded of our promise to the Lord that we will raise our boys up to know the Lord, commit our ways to Him, trust Him and He will act! And maybe I'm the only one feeling a little heat and early summer exhaustion at this point in June, but in case you need some motivation, there ya go!
