20 + 11

So, year 30 has passed and I have to agree with people when they say that the 30's are the new 20's. They have been great so far! Although I will still choose to say 20 + 11 instead of 31 for a few more days! Indulge me, please.
This year seems to be the year of the musical birthday cards! If you've been to Hallmark in the past year, you know what I am talking about. They have these cute cards with some kind of message on them and when you open them, the card starts playing a minute of a song that is appropriate to your card. Well, my sister starts off by giving me a card that plays "Super Freak" which was hilarious. Chad gives me a card which plays a song I love from High School Musical (the big craze of a movie from last year when I was still working with my middle school girls). Then Luke gives me a card that plays the Tina Turner song "You're Simply the Best" --which makes me break into tears thinking of it coming from Luke, while knowing that his daddy picked it out for me!
I give you this background mainly to tell you how cute our little boy is! Everytime he opens the cards, he starts dancing to the songs! We have been in tears laughing as Luke busts a move to "Super Freak"!!

Chad was so sweet and started my day off by making me pancakes and blackberries & raspberries (my favorite fruits). And then, for my big 20 plus 11 birthday, I decided I wanted to take a family trip to the zoo! So, off we went! Here are some pics. . .

Chad, Luke, Aunt Mary and Mimi all checking out the monkeys in the zoo!

Luke was obviously distracted but I had to show you the cute little baby giraffe!

Here is Luke intently watching the elephants. Aunt Mary discovered that Luke started moving his tongue around trying to imitate the elephant's trunk!

The hippos decided to perform for us! The trainers started tossing the hippos halves of cantaloupes and the hippos opened their mouths up really wide. It was quite a sight!

Here's my sister imitating a hippo. I know, I know, you can't choose your family. You just have to live with them! :) Kidding. We love you Aunt Mary!!
