a way to help.

I've been away from writing for a week now because of travel and our taking time to be with Chad's family. Thank you to those of you who offered kind words and notes. It meant a lot. We had a sweet time with his family and we are now home to ours!

I've alluded to a Disney post that is waaaay overdue, but today, and the days since disaster struck the Philippines, I've been feeling burdened for the people who've had their world torn apart. If you've been reading this little space for a bit, then you probably know our family supports Compassion. If you've never heard of Compassion, I'd encourage you to take at look at what they do here.

I received an email today with information on how we can help children affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. Have you seen the news? Various news organizations are reporting that officials fear 10,000 people may be dead because of this storm. Have you seen the photos of the devastation there? There is no way for us to comprehend what they are experiencing right now. This storm is said to have been over 3 times stronger than Hurricane Katrina. I just cannot imagine.

And at times like this, I think, "How in the world can I help them from my cozy little house?" I look around at all we have and take for granted. I want to help the people in the Philippines. But how?

The email I received today told me of one way I can help. We can help.

Help Children Affected by Philippines Typhoon

If you, too, want to help the Philippines, would you click here to read about how you can help children affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan? And then pray for the Philippines. They need our prayers.

**If you sponsor a child in the Philippines, and haven't heard, communications are down in the affected areas and Compassion is working hard with the country office to assess the damage. They hope to give you an update on your sponsor child as soon as they can.
