Fashion Friday!

I have a confession to make. I am not a shoe person. My sister inherited those genes from my mom. Somehow, they skipped right by me. I've never really cared about shoes all that much. When I've been shopping with my mom and sis and they've been looking at shoes for hours, I just follow them around like a little lost puppy dog. Don't get me wrong. I know when I like something and when I don't, but I don't need that certain red pair of shoes to go with "that" outfit.

Kelly Bourland Personal Style

However, since meeting with my good friend, Kelly, of Kelly Bourland Personal Style, I've been bitten by the shoe bug (don't worry hubby---it's nothing like my mom and sis. . .yet)! Kelly "owns" fashion! She oozes style. All of our friends agree that Kelly always looks like a million bucks! And, you know what? She pays next to nothin' for her style! She's a great bargain shopper and finds most of her clothes straight out of TJMaxx, Ross, etc! I could go on and on, but you will need to check out her website for yourself. If you live in our area, she's started up a new fashion consultant biz and it's awesome! I had the fortunate opportunity of being a "guinea pig" for her, which is where not only did I start falling in love with getting dressed everyday, but she gave me big shoe and accessory tips too! Just a couple of hours with her and I had a handful of new outfits from mixing and matching old clothes tucked away in my closet! She just has a knack for fashion!

If you don't live in our area, don't fret! Kelly has all kinds of style tips on her blog---good for the budget and for encouraging us not to wear sweatpants everyday. Not that there is anything wrong with sweatpants---because I know I will be in them some on those cold winter days! Right now she is in the middle of new series--31 Days to a More Fasionable Life. So, stop by and check out her blog. Her fashion advice is worth it! Now, if only I had her shoe savvy thoughts or my sister's awesome shoe taste when I got married. . . .

This is a photo of my sister and brother in law on their wedding day 2 weeks ago! 11 years ago I would never have dreamed of wearing red shoes under my white dress! BUT---I love this!!!!! Don't you??
