We held our breath. . .

We held our breath and prayed really hard that Luke's transition to his new big boy room would go smoothly. . .and so far it has (I'm knocking on wood. . .right now)!! We moved him into his new room last weekend and he loves it! It has been suggested to us by many people (our pediatrician included) to move Luke into his new room a few months before our new little baby gets here, so Luke won't feel kicked out of his old room.

We put the room together in different stages, and actually, it still isn't complete---the walls are bare and we'll be getting a new chair for his room--but other than that we're good. I found some train sheets and bedding from PBK and since Luke loves, I mean LOVES trains, he thinks his bed is so cool. Aunt Mary got him a Thomas the train stuffed pillow to sleep with and Luke thinks he's in heaven! I can't remember his exact words, but they were something like "I can have a train in my bed??" since he's used to only being able to play with the trains in our playroom.

Anyway, one week down and it's been a breeze. The hardest part of the big boy room for Mommy was putting together the stupid bed rail--don't plan on doing that again. . .EVER! I think I did tear up the first night we tucked him in (it's a big step to have your "baby" move to a big boy bed), but it's been so much fun for all of us!

Luke posing in his new big boy bed!

Here'a pic of one side of the room. The other side has a dresser and window, and another wall has a big closet.

Sighhhhh.... Oh, he's growing up so fast! I'm sure your heart must have been happy and sad all at the same time the first night he slept in his big boy bed. Such a great idea to get him the cool train bedding and pillow. How is napping going, btw?
