Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday, we went down to a pumpkin patch in Hernando, MS. We met some friends there and had a blast! There was a hayride to a pumpkin patch, a hay and corn maze, face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides and more! We were only there for a couple of hours, but you really could spend an entire day there. Here are some pics!

Hey--I think this is the one I want!

Luke and Daddy pose in the pumpkins!
Fun family time!

Setting up the pumpkins back home--boy this one is heavy!

funny stories

Now that Luke is talking non-stop, we have lots of funny stories to share. I really need to be writing these down in a scrapbook! Here are a couple that made us laugh this week. . .

The other day, Luke and I were driving around town. Out of nowhere, Luke says "Mocha is a good doggy!" I tell him he's right. Then he says, "Luke's a good boy!" and I tell him he's right again. Then, he says "Mommy's a good boy!" So, I explain to him that Mommy's a good girl. So now, he thinks he gets it and says "And Daddy's a good girl!" I was laughing out loud! I explained that Luke and Daddy were good boys and I that I was a good girl. Since then, he has it right!

Another funny story from the other day was when Luke was sitting in a chair with me reading a book. He kept trying to get up a little higher and was jabbing his elbow into my tummy. I told him he had to be careful because there was a baby inside Mommy's tummy. **Keep in mind, since I'm not really showing yet, we haven't focused on Mommy being pregnant, etc. So Luke looks at me really confused and lifts up my shirt to see my tummy. I laugh and explain that the baby is under my belly button. He then lifts up his shirt and asks "Baby's under Luke's belly button too?"

Luke just keeps us entertained. I love that he's communicating now--it's a blast!

Happy 2nd Birthday Luke!

Happy Birthday Luke! We have a 2 year old! Wow--that is so strange to say! Our little Lukey turned 2 yesterday! What a wonderful time it has been. God has blessed us beyond comprehension and we are so thankful to Him. Luke is such a joy in our lives and we feel honored that the Lord chose us to be Luke's parents!

Luke is definitely growing up fast. This time last year he couldn't walk or talk and now he's running and speaking in sentences! Some of his favorite things are trains, trucks (he's learning all kinds of construction and emergency vehicles), animals and reading books. He's just a little sponge and picks up on so much. Luke's also a copy-cat, so we have to be careful too! Here are some more little tidbits about Luke. . .

--loves letters and singing the ABC's; he likes to call out letters he sees on signs as we pass by them

--he's also learning his numbers and can count to 13; he can count to 10 in Spanish too (although he occasionally leaves out uno and tres--it's so cute)

--he likes to go outside and point out everything God made (leaves, pretty flowers, trees AND trucks and houses too)

--Luke has a super sense of direction and just by turning on certain roads he knows where we are going--well before we get there. Yes, Target is definitely one of those places. In fact, today as we were eating lunch, he looked at me and said, "Maybe we can go to Target this afternoon."

--Whenever he sees a FedEx truck on the road, he yells out "Go, FedEx" (wonder who taught him that). He also asked us the other day to turn on "Go Penn State" (again, wonder who taught him that). Chad and I DO watch Penn State, Indiana and Baylor every Saturday---it's the only day of the week that the TV is on all day, but apparently Luke thinks we can just turn football on at anytime!

Anyway, I could go on with stories about how cute, sweet and brilliant our child is, but what parent couldn't??? So, I'll leave you with some birthday pics!

Here's Luke helping Mommy make number 2 cookies for his birthday! It's a Buchas/now Jackson tradition to put flour on your nose when making cookies. He thought that was great and kept telling me my nose was white too!
This was the face that greeted us first thing on his birthday morning. Chad and I went up singing Happy Birthday and then asked Luke to smile for the camera. We got a smile and a BIG "Cheese!"
Since Lukey loves trains, and loves them coming out of tunnels, I asked our cake lady if she could make one. Here's what she came up with! How adorable!!
Our very happy and very blessed little family!

mommy pipeline

Just thought I'd pass along some info. down the mommy pipeline! I've known about this for a while and just haven't thought to pass it along until now.

If you use Pampers for your children, take note. If not, you can stop reading.

You may know this already, but I think it's an awesome bonus to using Pampers. In every box or bag of whatever you buy of Pampers diapers, there is a sticker on the inside. This sticker has a long code of letters and numbers. If you register at Pampers online (this takes no time), you can start adding points from the diapers you buy. These points add up and you can then get goodies like free books, free DVD's, free toys, etc. Well, I guess technically they aren't free because you pay shipping and handling, but the items are free.

BUT---since I don't think it's even worth paying the shipping and handling, I look for other items to get. Here's where it gets exciting. . .they have a coupon for a free Blockbuster night!!! It's legit too. You just save up 50 points and voila! We've done this twice now. You get 2 free movies, 2 free Coke products and a tub of popcorn (which wasn't great)---but again, 2 free movies!!! All of this, for merely buying Pampers diapers---which you have to do anyway!!

Check it out--it's a great way to have a fun movie or 2 for FREE!!!
